While the entire Sony Xperia range will be updated to Android 5.0 Lollipop at the start of 2015, early adopters, eager beavers and the developers amongst you can install Android 5.0 on the Xperia Z3, Xperia Z2 and Xperia Z1 right now.
Sony has released the AOSP Lollipop builds for its three flagships on the Xperia Github page, meaning that if you know what you're doing and don't mind a few bugs here and there (keep in mind the rollout hasn't even happened for Nexus devices yet), then you can beat everyone to the punch and have a Lollipop experience all of your own. Check out the following video from Sony showing what's in store:
The more users that run the beta builds and provide feedback to Sony, the better the bugs will be ironed out, so if you try them out be sure to do some community service and let Sony know what you find. For Sony to release the firmware, even a preview beta version for the Xperia Z1 and Xperia Z2 right alongside the brand new Xperia Z3, shows a nice commitment to not forgetting ''last year's'' flagship too.
Are you grabbing the pre-release firmware? What are your thoughts on the Sony-flavored Lollipop?

It was not released, they were just showing off "look how fast we did it". There will be a very limited test on certain Swedish customers later this year and rollout in 2015.
